Grading Rules of Disciplines in Dormitories for International Students of Jiangsu Vocational College of Information Technology
The appraisal items involve dormitory disciplines of on-campus students, and the scope covers dormitory hygiene, safety, civility, etc.
I. Dormitory Hygiene
1. Students must clean their dormitories every day, and maintain the security, hygiene, and tidiness within.
2. A list of cleaning duty assignments shall be posted on the back of the dormitory door. The duties of each tenant shall be assigned by the dormitory supervisor. In a mixed dormitory, the head teacher of the class with the most residents in that dormitory shall be the first responsible person, who shall appoint a dormitory supervisor. Points will be deducted if the list of cleaning duty assignments is not in place.
3. The dormitory hygiene grades shall be subject to the inspection results issued by the dormitory administrators and head teachers. Unqualified dormitories shall be listed as dormitories for rectification, and two points will be taken from them for each tenant.
4. From February 25, 2019, a dormitory receiving a failing grade for the first time during a semester shall be criticized and educated by the head teacher and the counselor. Tenants of a dormitory failing the inspection for a second time will be disqualified from the award and merit evaluation and given a college-wide notice of criticism.
II. Dormitory Safety
1. 1-3 points will be deducted from each tenant for each violation against electricity regulations, use of prohibited electrical appliances and open flames. Disciplinary penalties from a warning, serious warning, to expulsion will be given in case of severe consequences.
2. 1 point will be deducted from each student found smoking in the public areas of the College (including dormitories, teaching facilities, etc.). Two penalties under this category will cost the student his/her eligibility for awards and merits, and five penalties will lead to a warning, serious warning, and even expulsion
3. Students who consume or abuse alcohol in dormitories are subject to 1-5 points of deduction, those who cause negative influences by provoking disturbances under influence of alcohol or being hospitalized because of the influence will be given penalties from warning, serious warning, to expulsion.
4. 10 points will be deducted from a student who makes unbearable noise and clamor in dormitory areas.
5. 10-20 points will be deducted from a student engaging in a fight or brawl. Apart from paying the medical bills of the injured, he/she will also be given penalties from warning, serious warning, to expulsion.
6. For those who freely visit the dormitory of the opposite sex, both the visitor and the host will be subject to a deduction of 5 points. Multiple offenses will also be subject to penalties from a warning, serious warning, to expulsion.
7. 5 points will be deducted from a student who returns to the dormitory late.
8. 10 points will be deducted from a student who stays out all night.
9. 5 points will be deducted from a student who allows others to stay at his/her dormitory for the night.
10. Any improper use of the Internet by a student will be subject to 5 points of deduction.
III. Civility
1. 5 points will be deducted from a student who contradicts dormitory administrators.
2. 10 points will be deducted from a student who intimidates dormitory administrators.
3. 10 points will be deducted from a student who obstructs dormitory administrators in the course of their duties according to laws and the regulations of the College.
4. Any deduction under this category will cost a student his/her eligibility for awards and merits.
IV. Other Matters
The administrators may, at their discretion, deduct appropriate points for other violations against relevant regulations.
