Recently, the Department of Education of Luang Nam Tha Province in Laos sent a letter of thanks to our school. Mr. Benhong Jitala, Director of the Department of Education and Sports of Luang Nam Tha Province, expressed his heartfelt thanks to our school for the care and help given to the Lao students who were stranded abroad during the epidemic period, as well as our helping hand when the epidemic prevention and control supplies were in short supply in Laos.
In 2018, our school put the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on building a China-Laos community with a shared future into practice, and cooperated with the Luang Nam Tha Provincial Department of Education to establish the Luang Nam Tha Provincial Chinese Language Training Center. Every year, we enroll more than 300 students who are determined to go to China for advanced Chinese training. In the first half of 2021, more than 200 students were unable to return to school due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in Laos. After studying on the situation, our school offered a helping hand in a timely manner. Together with Lao teachers, we set up an online teaching team during the epidemic period. Through various methods such as WeChat, QQ and Tencent classroom, we kept an eye on the learning status of students every day, also an eye on the development of the epidemic in Laos, and strengthened the determination of students to fight the epidemic. When we learned of the shortage of epidemic prevention and control materials in Luang Nam Tha Province, our school immediately sent out 6,000 medical masks and some teaching materials to help the students fight the epidemic.
At present, Luang Nam Tha Department of Education has distributed the relevant materials to the students of training center and staff of Education Department. The training center is in good condition of epidemic prevention, and all online and offline learning is in good order.
